Mother's Love

I am very thankful that I have a sister who massage my back whenever I feel sick, massage my feet when I am tired, pedicure my nails, and make me coffee when I study. I am very lucky I have her as a sister. :) love love love. <3

Foot spa at home :D

I really felt good that after school and work there were two persons who loved me to massage my feet. It was great!

We really loved to eat. Being with my colleagues made me feel at home. We were like a family. We eat and laugh together.

After we got our paycheck, it was time to treat ourselves to Cheesecake factory at Sherman Oaks. The food and drinks were so good. The service was great. I had a very wonderful night with my friends at work.

Birthday Party

Last night, I went to a birthday party with my co-workers. I enjoyed the party and the food. It was nice meeting other people.

Headache and Nose bleeding

Today, I just feel really sick. :( Every week, I felt headache, nausea ad vomiting. Maybe it was cause of stress from work ad school.

My laptop had been broken for the past weeks, and until now I can not use it. I really need to make up blogs. oh oh. :(

I have been thinking the whole day on how can I discipline my brother. I talked to him many times to stop his bad attitude, he listened but he did not do it. He is growing so fast that I do not know everything about him. He was in trouble. He got suspended in school for two days because he got caught fighting with another student. They were seen by the cops. He was not like that. My brother is smart. He is good. But I do not know what happen, I do not know if it is because of his friends, school, family, or environment. Sometimes, I just thought maybe we ( my mom and I) do not spent time talking and guiding him everyday. Really, I do not know what to do.

The Five Fox News

I was very annoyed of what Kimberly Guilfoyle said, host of The Five on Fox News, last March 10, 2012. She wanted to separate the immigrants. As an immigrant, and based on her opinion, I really do not like what she said on TV. Is it really patriotism or racism? I really hate racists! Sorry for the word but I really do not like them. I respect her opinion, but I think she should watch her words. hahahahahaha

Studying is fattening :)

In order for me not to fall asleep during review for exams, I eat a lot of chocolates, chips, and any food in the fridge. After I got home from English class, I dropped by at Walgreens to buy chocolates. I spent 10 dollars just for the chocolates. And now, I am studying for my anatomy exam tomorrow while eating sweets, and Lays. I am still lively tonight. Still energetic! :D

The week is almost over.

My week has a very busy work. I have to do the Anatomy, Chemistry, and English homework, study for the second exam on Anatomy, and work for more than forty hours per week. I start doing my assignments after ten o'clock in the evening after I got from work. I know that this pain and agony are for the mean time only. My success is just one step, two step or three step ahead. Just study harder and smarter! I can do it! :)

Why are bees dying?

Honeybees produce honey and pollinate crops. But recent years, bees were disappearing. Scientists did not know what was the cause of this problem which they called "Colony Collapse Disorder". They were still searching for the cause of this problem. Chemicals might be killing the bees. They ingested the chemicals during their pollination rounds. Global warming might be the reason, too.

Here are the things we can do to save our bees.

1. Plant a bee-friendly garden

4. Build homes for native bees.

This video was made by my boyfriend for me. We were in a long distance relationship. This was how we celebrated our anniversaries, birthdays, valentine, Christmas or New year. In this video, he just showed how we met and how we became friends. You might not understand what was the meaning of those sentences in the video, but  I was sure that you definitely liked this video. He made all those props. He was so sweet, right? I am just a proud girlfriend! :)

CHEAT DAY!

I really want to lose weight but it is really hard to have a balanced diet. Today is my cheat day. I ate a lot of rice this afternoon, fish fillet, chips, chocolates, and bread. When I got home from work, this late evening, I ate a lot of rice and fish fillet again! oooh! Delicioso! :) I can not control  my mouth and my stomach to eat a lot of rice. I think this is already gluttony! hahahaha.

I can relate to this image.  I just use cold water when it is summer time and when I am sick. This is my actual response when I use cold water  in taking a bath. From then on, before I go to shower, I make sure that the water is warm. haha.

To resign or not to resign?

I have been thinking of whether to quit or not to quit in my job on July. I love my job and my colleagues. The reason behind why I am thinking of quitting is because I want to have at least one month vacation on July. My employer only allows two weeks vacation. I am planning to have a vacation trip in the Philippines. My plane ticket is very expensive. I do not want to waste my money. Besides, I am not home for three years. In contrast, if I quit, I do not have work after my vacation and I do not have money to pay for my monthly bills. hahaha. It is really hard to find a job right now. So what is the best thing to do?

Sodium Lauryl/Laureth sulfate

According to Wikipedia, Sodium lauryl sulfate is a detergent and surfactant found in many personal care products like soaps, shampoos, toothpaste. It is an inexpensive and very effective foaming agent. It removes oils from the skin, and can cause skin and eye irritation. Toxicology research by the US OSHA, NTP, and IARC supports the conclusions of the Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association and the American Cancer Society that SLES is not a carcinogen. It also represents a potentially effective topical microbicide, which can also inhibit and possibly prevent infection by various enveloped ad non-enveloped viruses such as Herpes simples viruses, HIV. SLS is not carcinogenic when either applied directly to skin or consumed. It has been shown to irritate the skin of the face with prolonged and constant exposure (more than an hour) in young adults.

In my opinion, and according to my research, I believe that SLS is not a carcinogen. It may be a skin irritant if you are exposed to this chemical to your skin for a prolonged time. Food and drug administration will not allow this chemical to be included in our daily hygiene products if it could harm us. After this research, I learned that this chemical is used for detergents also. Obviously, you do not want to use the same strength of a substance on your hair or skin as you would on the floor. Typically, they will not put too much SLS in our shampoos, soaps, or toothpaste. For sure, this was diluted in water. I believe that this is not harmful. Just a piece of advice, when using shampoos, soaps, or anything you apply in your skin, always dilute it to water. Nothing is harmful in a little amount. Too much will do, too much will kill you. :) We are surrounded by a lot of chemicals, environmentally or inside our system. 

Oh no!

Due to this changing weather (cold-hot-cold), I kept on sneezing. My throat was so itchy. Maybe, I will catch cough and colds. :( (I hope not)

I Salute Them

I saw this image on Facebook, and this caught my attention. This is very inspirational especially to those people who are disabled, mentally or physically challenged. They are special but we should treat them as normal. Despite of their disability, they are still proud, happy, optimistic, talented and full of spirit. We should show them our love. Let them feel our care and love for them. Disability is not a hindrance to our success. Aim high! Soar high!

Learning

Learning is a continuous process. Even if you are done in school, you still learn  from others or from your experiences. This is a role of a student, to study harder and smarter. We have to strive for excellence. We have to take the pain and the hardship because behind that, there is success, a good future, a better life. Study, Relax, Study.  :)

Happy

Everyone deserves to be happy. Material  things cannot buy your happiness. People, who you love, are the ones you want to spend your life and live with them forever. Having a happy life is the same as having a healthy life. So I want to be with my family and my love one forever. I do not want to be alone. Just be true to yourself. People who accept you as who you are, are the people who love and cares. We do not have to please everybody. Just stay who and what we are. 

My responsibility as a sister :)

I went to my brother's school to talk to his teacher. The teacher confiscated my brother's phone. My mother was busy working so I was the one who was in charged to get the phone back. I spoke to his teacher and said that my brother was not listening and always texting. He was difficult to control. He did not listen.  As a big sister, I gave him a punishment, I did not give his phone. He has to learn to be a good student, brother and son.

Prayer

Prayer is the most powerful form of communication. It feels so good as you wake up in the morning, you smile and pray, thanking God for another day to live. Praying makes you closer to Him. Do not stop praying even though your wishes and prayers do not come true sometime. God has one of the three answers in your prayer, either Yes, No, or Wait. :)

Workaholic

I just got home from work. I am really tired. Every Sunday I do the inventory and leave at 12mn. I want to go sleep now. Good night!

Disappointment

I was so disappointed with my anatomy exam. [sigh]. If I only study harder, I could really passed the exam. I felt like giving up and wanted to drop the class. But I have to continue the class even if I failed the first time and I should be thinking positive and  I promise, I will do better next time. There are a lots of room for improvement, right? It was just the first exam, and I hope I'll get an A for the next consecutive exams.

My Sister's 18th Birthday

Last Sunday, it was my sister's birthday celebration. It was super fun! A lot of visitors, foods, and games. My sister's friends were nice and cool. They slept over here at our house. The next day, I felt like it was continuation of the celebration. We went to Orange County to drop my sister's friend at his house. I really felt tired all day and night.

Sensory Overload

I feel stressed! I have to review for my exam in Anatomy, quiz in Chemistry, and homework in English. hahaha. I don't know what to do first. I can't deal with time management. Help me! No holiday for me. :)

Registered Nurse

I am so happy and proud because my boyfriend passed his nursing board exam in the Philippines last Thursday. I am very jealous. Before I migrated here at the United States, I was in my last year of studying Nursing in the Philippines. I don't know if I should be regretful that I didn't go back and didn't finish my school there or should I be happy because I have a better life here at America? I always thought of the past that if I finish Nursing in the Philippines, I will just get my NCLEX  here and earn a lot of money. ($_$) haha. I don't want to be in college all over again. But sometimes, I just think of positive thoughts. I told myself God has a purpose. I am blessed and lucky because there's a lot of great opportunities here.

Sleepy Thursday

I woke up 5 o'clock in the morning to take my mother's friend to work. Then, I went straight to LAVC for my anatomy class. It was very cold. And now, I am so sleepy, I want to go sleep but I need to go to my job. Oh well, this is American life, need to study and work to have a better living. :)

Valentine's day

Valentine's day is not just for partners or couples. After work, my colleagues and I went to Santa Monica Pier to celebrate Valentine's day. We ate at Denny's restaurant and spent our time sharing our experiences to each other. It was already 4 am when I got home. We may not be a lovers, but we definitely love each other's company.
